Daily Times - Site Edition

Germany release coins and stamps commemorating the Equestrian Games.

"They depict the official World Cup poster, two of the stadiums, and a mass of German flags being waved by football fans. Another stamp shows a horse to represent the other major sporting event of the year in Germany, the World Equestrian Games, to be held in Aachen on August 22 to September 3.

The $12 silver coin has a football motif on one side and the eagle of the federal republic on the flip side. The World Cup kicks off on June 9 in Munich and concludes on July 9 with the final in Berlin. "

American Saddlebreds as Sport Horses

American Saddlebreds as Sport Horses: "For more than 100 years, American Saddlebreds have been produced for the purpose of carrying a riders weight comfortably and efficiently…I have never seen any Saddlebred horse - even a part bred - who did not readily perform the passage … Most have incredibly comfortable and coordinated canters as well … I think they are the most neglected of all breeds suitable for dressage.'"
